Restaurateur and Entrepreneur Jeff Hunter may be a newcomer to San
Diego's culinary scene, but is no novice at running a successful business.
Since 1995, Hunter has opened and run a plethora of successful companies
including modeling agencies, a fashion and lifestyle magazine, one of
the largest nightclubs in Western Canada, and a real estate development
company that continues its success in Canada. In 2004, Hunter relocated
from Canada to Rancho Santa Fe looking for his next adventure. Hunter
set his sights on Del Mar and has tapped some of San Diego's top talent
to run his first endeavor in the United States—
Flavor Del Mar.
Elected Sommelier of the Year in 2007 by Riviera Magazine and born and raised in the south of France, Flavor Del Mar General Manager Jerome Astolfi began working in the hospitality industry at the age of 16, starting at La Ferme, a fine dining restaurant in Aubagne, France. He has worked his way up through just about every position possible in a restaurant, from dishwasher to line cook, bus boy to General Manager. In 1997, Astolfi received an Associate degree from the Hotel and Restaurant Management Technical College of Marseille Bonneveine. He attended the Superior Institute of Marseille Cadenelle and graduated in 1999 with a BA in International Trade and Business. After a few years working in restaurants in New York City, Astolfi moved to San Diego where he has managed and opened a number of the city's finest restaurants, working as General Manager, Sommelier and consultant.
Developing his talent early on, Chef Redzikowski attended The Culinary Institute of America on a scholarship from Wine Spectator where he graduated first in his class, with high honors. During his schooling, he completed an externship at New York City’s acclaimed Le Cirque, as well as monthly stages at Alain Ducasse and Le Bernardin. In 2008 Chef Redzikowski competed in Iron Chef America and in 2010 was a StarChefs Rising Star nominee. Chef has worked at a number of celebrated restaurants around the country including Nobu Matsuhisa in Aspen, Colorado; Joel Robuchon at the Mansion, the only three star Michelin Restaurant in Las Vegas; Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant in the Bellagio and more. Most recently, Chef Redzikowski was based in Los Angeles where he was the Executive Chef at the renowned Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills.
